Andy Warhol >

Andy Warhol has created some of the most iconic images of the 20th century, his works explore the relationship between artistic expression, advertising, and celebrity culture that flourished by the 1960s, and span a variety of media, including painting, silkscreening, photography, film, and sculpture. Warhol drew widely from popular culture and everyday subject matter, creating works like his 32 Campbells Soup Cans (1962) Brillo Pad Box Sculptures, and portraits of Marylin Monroe, using the medium of silkscreen printmaking to achieve his characteristic hard edges and flat areas of colour.
