Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey, born in 1970, is an influential street artist and graphic designer whose work intersects art and activism. He gained recognition with his ubiquitous "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" sticker campaign, culminating in the iconic "Obey Giant" image. However, it was Fairey's "HOPE" poster for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign that catapulted him to international prominence. Fairey continues to use art as a platform for social and political commentary.
